And then I got to photograph Dara. These two cousins are the sweetest, through and through.
I wanted to take Dara to some different locations so the girls would have a different look from each other but went ahead and started at one of my favorite spots on the river that I had taken Kayla to just one week prior. I love this spot because I know I will have great light there no matter what the weather is doing. But, just in a weeks time the mosquito population sky rocketed. In this first image of Dara I edited out probably 200 of them..ughhh…Needless to say I got her out of there very quickly.
Then as we started to drive this giant puffy cloud (yes they still exist although I haven’t seen one since Dara’s session) covered the sun…perfect timing and perfect light! Thanks to this cloud I was able to stop at two locations I love and normally wouldn’t be able to shoot at until sunset light…it was perfect. We played on these really cool rocks that matched her floral dress perfectly and then spent sometime down on the north shore before heading out to the family cabin on Swan Lake.
With the cloud cover now gone we were able to get some beautiful portraits of Dara on the Swan lake shore and on the family dock and we even got to play on her paddle board for a bit before our light disappeared. Next time I am going to get her to try a headstand for me without getting wet…we shall see if she can pull it off 😉 Such a perfect evening for a truly amazing person and can I just say how much I love Dara’s hair….so so pretty 🙂
Dara, I had a blast and can’t wait to see you again soon. Thank you for an amazing senior portrait session….xoxo Shawna
