I have been looking forward to this senior portrait session, nervously, for the last several months. Wasn’t sure I would be able to hang with this crew of mountain goats but I braved the adventure and I am so glad I did.
I first met Keegan in January when I was taking portraits for his amazing family. At the shoot his family was giving him a hard time about where he wanted to take his upcoming senior portraits so I of course inquired into what he had in mind. When he said he wanted to go to the summit of one of the tallest peaks in Glacier National Park I thought what the heck and excitedly said I would love to do it. I had so much fun and would do it again, that’s for sure.
I hike a lot and have traveled huge distances in the mountains but wasn’t quite prepared for what these guys had in mind. I had no idea that at some point our hike would turn into a climb through a shale filled shoot straight up the front of Mount Reynolds; it was awesome. For this group (Keegan, sister Kyersten, and her boyfriend Ryker) it was just another day in the park but for me it was a great accomplishment. I just wish I could have seen my face when I saw the guys started strapping on helmets and I nervously ask, “what are those for?” They must have thought I was crazy.
We had such an epic day. Keegan’s senior portraits are far from traditional but so very perfect for him….. I am honored and grateful for this experience and so glad I got to play a part in fulfilling this request for him.
Thank you Keegan, Kyersten, and Ryker for such a grand adventure.
