The Sliter family and I have been talking about family portraits in Glacier for the last few years and we finally did it!
I have loved every location we have been to but was so excited to escape the valley with them and go to a place that we all love so very much. This time of year the water at the river is low enough that we were able to adventure out onto the rocks, throw rocks into the water, and enjoy all the beautiful fall colors in the background. We even made it up to Lake Mcdonald to conclude our session and were so surprised to see the fire still smoldering on the distant ridge….I thought for sure it would be out by now. But we were also surprised to be greeted by a huge storm rolling across the Lake, it was not suppose to rain! But we waited it out and although it was pretty darn windy after that we were able to soak in a few views from the lakeshore before heading back home.
These three kiddos are so fun and it has been amazing being a part of their lives. Watching them grow in height of course is apparent but each year I spend time with them individually I love to see their every changing personalities. The oldest really shook me this year…I was so shocked to see that she is no longer the little girl I remember her as from last year. It kinda seems like she changed overnight (insert mixed feelings about this). The middle kiddo, he just cracks me up, so smart and so silly, love spending time with him. Then Mr. personality himself, the baby of the family, he was extra fun to photograph this year…so many expressions and so very much to say. Silly stories and concerns about the dangers of being on rocks…he is adorable.
I love being able to capture these important years of growth for families, especially for those that have been such close friends for so many years. The friendship that has grown with this sweet family is very near to my heart and I look forward to the next 10 years.
Sliter family thank you for making the trek to Glacier this year, for allowing me to be a part of your yearly family portrait adventure, and for being so very much fun to photograph. I cherish our time together every year and love watching everyone grow leaps and bounds.
